Employment Consultant – Social Services

Position Title: EMPLOYMENT CONSULTANT
Salary Range: Great starting salary, $21.53 – $25.11 per hour with generous benefits
- Develop jobs for people with disabilities, by determining their individual skills (Equip)
- Provide on-the-job training and coaching to ensure success (Equip)
- Generate leads of potential employers to generate job placements (Listen)
- Onsite visits to check with supported employee and employer at regular intervals (Listen)
- Facilitate further training or coaching to assist both parties (Improve)
- Maintain up-to-date case records and progress documentation on behalf of clients (Equip)
- Manage caseload and required monthly service hours and develop weekly schedule to meet customer needs (Listen)
- Carry out additional responsibilities as identified and assigned by Program Manager to fulfill Trillium’s mission (Listen, Equip, Improve)
- Have at least two years’ experience in teaching skills to individuals with disabilities
- Ability to perform vocational assessments
- Outgoing and confident in approaching businesses on behalf of people with disabilities
- Willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays if necessary to support a client in their job
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License, your private vehicle to use for business, and proof of current auto liability insurance
- Able to successfully pass a criminal background search conducted by Washington State
- Proof of vaccination status against COVID-19 or a religious/medical accommodation will need to be verified if prompted an offer

Job Summary:
Trillium is seeking full-time Employment Associates in all five of our locations: King County (Auburn WA), Pierce County (Puyallup, WA), Kitsap County (Silverdale, WA), Clark County (Vancouver, WA), and Yakima County (Yakima, WA). The Employment Associate (EA) is a key provider of quality services to our customers and clients. The EA is responsible for ensuring clients have jobs that they love in the community and that their employers have the assistance that they need to train and maintain quality performance of duties.
Responsibility and Duties:
- Coaching and teaching individuals with developmental disabilities job skills (Equip)
- Empowering people with disabilities to reach their full potential (Improve)
- Interacting effectively with clients, families, businesses, schools and funders (Listen)
- Managing a fluctuating daily schedule (Learn)
- Writing case notes and reports that reflect your client work (Improve)
Qualifications and Skills:
- Knowledge, ability, and desire to work respectfully with people with disabilities
- Ability to relate to a diverse set of situations and individuals
- Self-directed and can work independently
- Comfortable engaging in collaborative and creative problem solving
- Ability to constructively give and thoughtfully receive feedback
- Willing to work flexible schedule which may include weekends, evenings, and holidays if necessary
