Employment Consultant

Location: Auburn, WA (King County)
Trillium Employment Services is seeking individuals who are creative thinkers with good problem-solving skills to assist King County businesses in employing people with developmental disabilities.
We believe that our communities are strengthened when people with developmental disabilities are included in the workforce. If you have business development/marketing skills or teaching/coaching skills to help increase employment for people with disabilities in King County communities, we want to hear from you.
Main job duties are:
  • Coaching and teaching individuals with developmental disabilities job skills
  • Empowering people with disabilities to reach their full potential
  • Building relationships with businesses in the community through networking and pitching our services and inclusive workplace concepts to them.
  • Interacting effectively with clients, families, businesses, schools and funders
  • Assessing job seekers’ marketable skills and abilities
  • Managing a fluctuating daily schedule
  • Writing case notes and reports that reflect your client work

An experienced staff member will be mentoring you in your first 6 months to ensure you understand all aspects of the job.  Formal trainings will also take place to ensure you have the tools you need to be successful. Mandatory Qualifications:
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License and proof of vehicle liability insurance.
  • Must obtain a favorable driving abstract from the Department of Motor Vehicles
  • Must have private vehicle and willing to use for business.
  • Ability to complete background check as required by our contracts to serve a vulnerable population.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work some evenings or weekends as required to serve clients
Desirable Qualifications:
Have at least one year of experience teaching skills to individuals with disabilities
  • Self-directed and can work independently • Willing to learn from people with disabilities • Ability to express ideas orally and in writing • Confident in approaching businesses on behalf of people with disabilities
Compensation:
Salary is competitive and depends on qualifications and experience. Base starting salary is between $36,000 – $38,000 a year ($17.31 – $19.71 per hour). The staff person hired can expect to receive yearly pay increases based on individual performance, level of responsibility and overall performance of our organization. The candidate can also expect to receive monthly reimbursement checks for business mileage and smart phone expenses.  Bonuses average $1,500 per year, based on team performance. Benefits offered have an estimated minimum average value of $16,000 per year.
Benefits available to full-time employees include:
Medical, dental and vision benefits (dependents receive similar benefits with 60% of the premium paid by Trillium) • Personal leave starting at 18 days per year • In addition to personal leave, full time employees receive 10 paid holidays per year • Extended Illness Bank for payment of salary during extended illness for employees and their families • Long Term Disability Insurance • Life insurance ($10,000) • Paid sabbatical leave at four, ten, twenty, and thirty year employment anniversary dates • A 403b retirement with Traditional and Roth options and a generous employer match after the first year of employment • Mileage & cell phone reimbursement • Immediate and cost-free access to the Employment Assistance Program for employees and their families
