Our Staff

We have developed a culture of collaboration and learning at Trillium. You may have a primary point of contact, but behind the scenes, our teams work together to combine strengths and provide quality services. Each member of the team brings a diverse personal and professional background that we hope meets the needs of the businesses and clients we serve.

Wendy Taliaferro

Olivia VanNatta

Program Manager

Olivia has been on the Trillium team since 2017. Olivia graduated from Western Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in Human Services in 2015. During an internship with a nonprofit, Olivia found her passion of working with individuals with disabilities through promoting inclusion in the community and helping individuals become self-advocates. Olivia has worked with youth and transition programs to expand services to students while still in school. In 2020, Olivia completed the Leadership Clark County program to expand her leadership and networking skills. On the Trillium team, Olivia is involved in the job foundations program, community outreach and referrals and intake. Outside of work, Olivia enjoys spending time with her husband, son, daughter and dog, Penny.

Ashton Steele

Assistant Program Manager

Ashton Steele was born and raised in Vancouver, WA. She graduated from Washington State University- Pullman with a Bachelor's in Speech and Hearing Sciences. WSU- Pullman was unique in that it housed a speech and hearing clinic on site and undergraduates were mentored through clinical sessions with clients. Here, she gained experience in delivering speech therapy in a clinical setting and found that she wanted to be more involved out in the community. Before that, having been born and raised in Vancouver, WA, she had experience of going to class with kids who received one on one support from paraeducators, from elementary school through high school. In addition, she threw javelin with members of the Deaf community.

Ashton's first job out of college was as a job coach, which she found by complete accident. She was excited to find a community-based setting that allowed her to apply some of the skills gained in the clinical setting. Her first job as a job coach started in 2008 and lasted just under a year. The economic collapse of 2008 ended up forcing the company she worked for to close their operations. In 2010, Ashton began working for a Clark County based employer that eventually hired a Trillium client in 2012, and then another in 2015. Seeing the energy that both individuals brought to the company and working with them as peers was a factor that led her to apply at Trillium.

Ashton is part of the LGBTQIA+ community and is sober. She is motivated by growth and helping others feel like they are not alone in whatever struggles may come their way. It is not easy to step outside of your comfort zone and that's where growth awaits. Ashton loves being able to share her own struggles in her personal growth in hopes that it can help others to progress.

In her free time, Ashton enjoys spending time with her daughter, and exploring the outdoors together. She enjoys playing music, writing, and learning.

Donna Gunnels

Amy Schneider

Senior Employment Consultant

Amy is a transplant to the Pacific Northwest. She moved to Vancouver in July of 2015, after graduating from Bemidji State University in Northern Minnesota with a B.A. in Community Health and a minor in Psychology and Human Performance: Fitness and Training. While in college, Amy did an internship with Hope House, a day center for adults with mental illness, working one-on-one with clients to live a healthier lifestyle. She would meet them at the gym, show them exercises to do at home, and the importance of good nutrition. Amy also coached basketball for the Special Olympics for three years. Working with individuals with disabilities of any kind is a passion of Amy’s. She was introduced to Supported Employment here in Vancouver with another company, and fortunately was introduced to Trillium and accepted a position as an Employment Consultant.

Amy loves the warm weather and mild winters of the Pacific Northwest compared to Northern Minnesota. She enjoys being around family again and going to car shows on the weekends. Amy does some hiking but is looking forward to exploring more. Amy holds the Professional Employment Certificate.

Martin Borcherding

Jennifer Trout

Senior Employment Consultant

Jennifer Trout was born and raised in Vancouver, WA. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in human development in 2019. While in college she heard about job coaching and decided to conduct research on what a job coach is, and it sparked her interest. In January 2019 she interned at the Clark Trillium office. She fell in love with Trillium while learning more about the mission and seeing it in action. Her internship experience confirmed her interest in job coaching and she decided to apply after graduation. Jennifer is motivated by advocacy and helping society change their views on people with disabilities. In her free time, she loves to explore the Gifford Pinchot forest, finding new lakes to relax and swim in, gardening, and taking her dog to the dog park. She also loves to collect hot sauce and keeps a hot sauce journal.

Collette Strickler

Senior Employment Consultant

She/her pronouns
Collette was born and raised in Vancouver, WA. She graduated from Western Washington University in 2020 with a BS in Psychology. Graduating during the pandemic left Collette unsure of what to do, so she decided to work with children with autism as a Behavior Technician. During her time as a Behavior Technician, Collette learned a lot about herself. She discovered that she didn’t have the energy to be around children all day, she loved making connections with the people she served, and she was neurodivergent herself. Some of these realizations led Collette to Trillium, where she started as an Employment Consultant in August 2021. Collette strongly agrees with Trillium’s mission and strives to help people see their full potential and promote an inclusive community. Collette became a PBS specialist in 2022, where she supports people through challenges they’re experiencing at work or as a barrier to employment.

Collette has 2 cats named Celeste and Malibu Dave, who she loves very much. In her free time, Collette enjoys water coloring, journaling, crafting in general, taking care of house plants, music, going to concerts, and planning the next trip to Disneyland.
